The Fitness Center on Deck 9 offers generous machines such as ellipticals, treadmills, bikes, rowing machines, weight machines, and free weights. Free classes are available with an upcharge for categories such as spinning, yoga, and Pilates. Adjacent to the Fitness Center, the Greenhouse Spa & Salon encompasses steam, sauna, aromatic, and massage rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, heated ceramic lounges, a full-service salon, and relaxation areas. The 2008-built MS Eurodam cruise ship is the first of two Signature-class Holland America liners, with sistership ms Nieuw Amsterdam.

Whether you prefer slot machines or want to try your hand at blackjack or poker, our dealers and staff are available to provide complimentary instruction — and we offer many engaging tournament options.
Suite (SS)
Due to our stateroom location directly below the Sea View Pool/Bar, every morning around 7 am you would hear the constant moving of deck chairs/tables, which was a minor inconvenience since we are early risers. Our only significant issue was that the balcony partition between the adjacent stateroom came loose during our last night on voyage, apparently due to high winds, and banged the majority of the evening. Overall, we were more than satisfied with our accommodation after such a long hiatus from cruising. Eurodam has outstanding, attentive service, from personal waitstaff to bartenders and performers. Our waiter made a special effort to seat us window-side for dinner when available. The daily cleaning service includes surprise animal towel creations on occasion.
Decks and Cabins
There is a glass coffee table and two side chairs to make more of a conversation area. Bathrooms have ample glass shelves to store your toiletries, as well as a shelf and trash can below the sink. Two hooks are on the inside bathroom door for your pyjamas or robes. The suite bath amenities take it up a notch with a new expanded line of Elemis Aromapure products. Many of these categories also come in a Spa category that adds special amenities and hydrotherapy pool and thermal suite access. In general, the cabins are comfortable, but don't offer much in the way of unique bells and whistles.

The general layout is the same as lower-category cabins but also has a living area with a full-sized sofa bed, coffee table and a side chair. The door to the balcony opens, rather than slides, and opens to a spacious balcony that is perfect for entertaining with two chairs and a small table on one side and a chair with ottoman on the other. Suite bathrooms kick the luxury up a few notches with double vanities, granite floors, tiled walls and a separate whirlpool bath and shower and a soothing blue and gray color scheme that give them a decidedly spa-like ambience.
The largest are the Pinnacle Suites (1000 ft2 / 93 m2, with terrace sized 320 ft2 / 30 m2). Debuting in 2008 as the largest ship in Holland America's fleet, the Eurodam carries 2,104 passengers and features all the features of her fellow HAL ships, plus additional dining venues, spa cabins and private cabanas. (Noordam was docked but with no passengers.) We were informed that the ship would only have 905 passengers on this sailing (43% of full double occupancy passenger capacity!), so embarkation was a breeze.
The Dining Room
From the $3 million artwork collections to culinary adventures, this is an incredible ship. The bathroom has a double vanity, whirlpool bath and separate shower stall. The lounge provides a continental breakfast, though suite passengers may also head to the Pinnacle Grill for a full breakfast, plus midday snacks, high tea, evening appetizers and an all-day honor bar. In the lounge you'll find worktables, a large-screen television, library, sofa and chairs. Eurodam keeps it fairly simple and straightforward when it comes to cabin choices.

The bathroom includes a dual-sink vanity, full-size whirlpool bath and shower, and an additional shower stall. Generously proportioned and filled with light, these elegant suites include a living room, dining room, pantry with microwave and refrigerator, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a private verandah with whirlpool. There's also a sofa bed, suitable for two people, and a guest toilet. Amenities include a private stereo system, use of the exclusive Neptune Lounge, private concierge and an array of complimentary services. They feature a large sitting area and two lower beds convertible to one king-size bed—our signature Mariner's Dream™ bed with plush Euro-Top mattresses.
They'll have an opportunity to join other kids their age for arts and crafts, sports, video game competitions, scavenger hunts, challenging team games and themed parties. Club HAL is offered on board all ships except for ms Maasdam. There are 30 wheelchair-accessible staterooms, including turning space, accessible routes, and bathrooms.
Relax in Holland America's greenhouse spa, salon, fitness center and fitness classes. There are also Hydrotherapy pools on some Holland America ships. The two snorkeling sites were nice, but nothing compared to Hawaii or French Polynesia. Especially liked snorkeling the coral formations at the second site.

A 254 square foot "Deluxe Verandah Oceanview Stateroom" has excellent storage and all the amenities you would expect on a premium cruise line.It also includes two small items that should be incorporated into all cruise ship cabins. The first is a lighted magnifying mirror, which is perfect for baby boomers (and others) who don't see so well. The second is a small, very bright goose-neck lamp on each side of the bed. One roommate (or spouse) can read without disturbing the other.
