Starting out with Vegetable (2018), a 12 minute, 1-take film set in a post-apocalyptic world that follows a trio of undead and their desire to survive. Vegetable toured both nationally and internationally before being most recently seen on RTÉ’s Shortscreen. After this SwanDive went on to produce HALO (2019), a 16 minute, 1-take film set entirely within the taxi of protagonist Dara. HALO held its world premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh and garnered numerous accolades both nationally and internationally. Following a brief pandemic related hiatus, SwanDive produced a slew of music videos for acclaimed Irish artists Daithí, Elaine Mai and Sun Mahshene, respectively.

His documentaries have been nominated numerous awards, including 20 Irish Film & Television Awards; winning 9, including ‘Best Director’ in 2013 and 2018.

As with his own house, the design that gradually came together was greatly influenced by the long tradition of local farmhouses. Adapted from his theatre show Rapids, HOW TO TELL A SECRET was made in collaboration with Anna Rodgers and Invisible Thread Films. Shaun is currently developing two new narrative feature projects with support from Screen Ireland and in collaboration with Darren Thornton (A Date for Mad Mary) and Invisible Thread.
