The Fitness Center on Deck 9 offers generous machines such as ellipticals, treadmills, bikes, rowing machines, weight machines, and free weights. Free classes are available with an upcharge for categories such as spinning, yoga, and Pilates. Adjacent to the Fitness Center, the Greenhouse Spa & Salon encompasses steam, sauna, aromatic, and massage rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, heated ceramic lounges, a full-service salon, and relaxation areas. The 2008-built MS Eurodam cruise ship is the first of two Signature-class Holland America liners, with sistership ms Nieuw Amsterdam.

Balcony (VE)

A casual, modern marketplace, Lido Market offers the widest range of food options on board for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a late-night snack. Your Holland America Line ship’s Casino offers a wide array of gaming options. Whether you prefer slot machines or want to try your hand at blackjack or poker, our dealers and staff are available to provide complimentary instruction — and we offer many engaging tournament options.

Suite (SS)

Due to our stateroom location directly below the Sea View Pool/Bar, every morning around 7 am you would hear the constant moving of deck chairs/tables, which was a minor inconvenience since we are early risers. Our only significant issue was that the balcony partition between the adjacent stateroom came loose during our last night on voyage, apparently due to high winds, and banged the majority of the evening. Overall, we were more than satisfied with our accommodation after such a long hiatus from cruising. Eurodam has outstanding, attentive service, from personal waitstaff to bartenders and performers. Our waiter made a special effort to seat us window-side for dinner when available. The daily cleaning service includes surprise animal towel creations on occasion.

Decks and Cabins

There is a glass coffee table and two side chairs to make more of a conversation area. Bathrooms have ample glass shelves to store your toiletries, as well as a shelf and trash can below the sink. Two hooks are on the inside bathroom door for your pyjamas or robes. The suite bath amenities take it up a notch with a new expanded line of Elemis Aromapure products. Many of these categories also come in a Spa category that adds special amenities and hydrotherapy pool and thermal suite access. In general, the cabins are comfortable, but don't offer much in the way of unique bells and whistles.

Praised by Condé Nast Traveler for cuisine “that rivals the top restaurants on land,” Tamarind is the perfect place to explore the culinary traditions of Southeast Asia, China and Japan. The menu, which honors the elements of water, wood, fire and earth, features such exotic fare as wok-seared lobster, barramundi (Asian sea bass) in banana leaf and sushi, accompanied by chilled or heated sake. And, try our specialty sushi created in collaboration with Culinary Council member and Master Sushi Chef, Andy Matsuda. The general layout is the same as lower-category cabins but also has a living area with a full-sized sofa bed, coffee table and a side chair. The door to the balcony opens, rather than slides, and opens to a spacious balcony that is perfect for entertaining with two chairs and a small table on one side and a chair with ottoman on the other. Suite bathrooms kick the luxury up a few notches with double vanities, granite floors, tiled walls and a separate whirlpool bath and shower and a soothing blue and gray color scheme that give them a decidedly spa-like ambience.

The largest are the Pinnacle Suites (1000 ft2 / 93 m2, with terrace sized 320 ft2 / 30 m2). Debuting in 2008 as the largest ship in Holland America's fleet, the Eurodam carries 2,104 passengers and features all the features of her fellow HAL ships, plus additional dining venues, spa cabins and private cabanas. The Eurodam offers several itineraries, but generally sails to Scandinavia and the British Isles during the summer months before repositioning to Fort Lauderdale to offer Easter Caribbean routes in the winter. 2 lower beds convertible to 1 queen-size bed, bathtub & shower.

eurodam cruise ship

Make the most of your Holland America Line cruise with exclusive special events and signature experiences in select cities. The Eurodam was the only cruise vessel in FLL port with passengers. (Noordam was docked but with no passengers.) We were informed that the ship would only have 905 passengers on this sailing (43% of full double occupancy passenger capacity!), so embarkation was a breeze.

The Dining Room

From the $3 million artwork collections to culinary adventures, this is an incredible ship. The bathroom has a double vanity, whirlpool bath and separate shower stall. The lounge provides a continental breakfast, though suite passengers may also head to the Pinnacle Grill for a full breakfast, plus midday snacks, high tea, evening appetizers and an all-day honor bar. In the lounge you'll find worktables, a large-screen television, library, sofa and chairs. Eurodam keeps it fairly simple and straightforward when it comes to cabin choices.

Eurodam Decks and Cabins

The bathroom includes a dual-sink vanity, full-size whirlpool bath and shower, and an additional shower stall. Generously proportioned and filled with light, these elegant suites include a living room, dining room, pantry with microwave and refrigerator, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a private verandah with whirlpool. There's also a sofa bed, suitable for two people, and a guest toilet. Amenities include a private stereo system, use of the exclusive Neptune Lounge, private concierge and an array of complimentary services. They feature a large sitting area and two lower beds convertible to one king-size bed—our signature Mariner's Dream™ bed with plush Euro-Top mattresses.

They'll have an opportunity to join other kids their age for arts and crafts, sports, video game competitions, scavenger hunts, challenging team games and themed parties. Club HAL is offered on board all ships except for ms Maasdam. There are 30 wheelchair-accessible staterooms, including turning space, accessible routes, and bathrooms.

Relax in Holland America's greenhouse spa, salon, fitness center and fitness classes. There are also Hydrotherapy pools on some Holland America ships. The two snorkeling sites were nice, but nothing compared to Hawaii or French Polynesia. Especially liked snorkeling the coral formations at the second site.

You'll want to book well in advance for an Alaska cruise between June and August, as itineraries tend to sell out quickly. Alaska has a short cruise season that lasts from late April through October. June through August is Alaska's high season, when weather is warmest and summer vacation season is in full swing. However, crowds and high fares are the norm at this time of year and rain is likely, especially in August.

Put Some Spring in Your Step

cruise march

Vision was one of four ships to have cancelled cruises due to the Omicron variant. Wonder of the Seas will sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and offer 7-night cruises for just March and April before heading to Europe. If you're looking to get a deal on a cruise, the first week is usually safe from spring break, which means lower demand. Likewise for the very end of the month, when anyone who didn't take a spring break cruise earlier will wait for April. If you're seeking a slightly cheaper river cruise in Europe, spring can mean flowers in glorious bloom and milder temperatures. Tulip-viewing itineraries in the Netherlands and Belgium are especially popular.

Deeper experiences of the islands

Cruise to the Bahamas, where you can charter a boat to private Pearl Island or lounge on Junkanoo Beach. Set your sights on Mexico and explore the Mayan ruins of Tulum, or dive into deep-blue cenote caves near Cancun. Or explore the pristine beaches, swim-up bars and unforgettable views of Bermuda on the pink sands of West Whale or Horsehoe Bay Beach. As you bid farewell to the ship, remember that the memories you’ve created are yours to treasure.

Historical data indicates the average rainfall in March for most of the major destinations in Western Mexico approaches zero. The biggest change is cruises in March will not require passengers that are fully vaccinated to wear masks while indoors. There is a big change for Covid-19 protocols for cruises in March. Wonder of the Seas is the biggest cruise ship in the world and has a lot of new features and enhancements.

Carnival Horizon Virtual Tour Take a First Look

carnival cruise line tours

Near the ship's tween and teen clubrooms, it has two padded trampoline areas where you can jump around and take part in games like jousting on a balance beam or shooting baskets while bouncing. There's even trampoline dodgeball and, at one end of the room, a climbing wall augmented with interactive game elements. In general, the production shows aren't nearly as sophisticated — or as long — as what you'll find on Royal Caribbean or Norwegian ships. Every Carnival ship has one big theater where you'll often find flashy, fast-paced production shows that string together a medley of loosely related tunes. Designed to be quick and digestible, they typically last around 30 minutes and have relatively small casts (just eight on some ships). At one level, Carnival can best be described as a working man's or working woman's vacation.

Next Norwegian Ship Will Sail with New Restaurants

The fun continues when you reach your port — there’s a huge variety of shore excursions to choose from. Our ships sail to stunning destinations — see just where on the map we go. The Terrazza Cabins on Carnival Venezia have private terraces that lead out on the Deck 5 Promenade Deck – but this area is keycard access only so if you book one, you won't have loads of people walking past gawping.

Onboard Activities

Seuss™ WaterWorks™, where Dr. Seuss characters transform the waterpark experience into a delightfully riddle-filled ride, that’s fun for all ages, with The Cat’s Hat slide, Fun Things slide, a tipping top-hat and spray toys galore. In this picture, the crew are here to welcome the very first guests onboard the ship's very first sailing as Carnival Venezia, in Barcelona on May 29, 2023. The exact areas visited can vary for each tour depending on ship operations and security concerns. The pre-cruise tour sales work exactly like reserving shore excursions before setting sail. Booked guests simply log in to their cruise reservation and select “Behind the Fun” as a tour option. Carnival Cruise Line will soon be rolling out pre-cruise reservations for the Behind the Fun tour to all 26 ships.

The Carnival Cruise Line fleet

In fact, the lower tiers of the Carnival program are among the most stingy in the entire cruise universe. You'll receive things like a single complimentary bottle of water (at the Red tier) and a single free drink that only can be ordered on the last night of a cruise (at the Gold tier). In other words, if you are sailing seven-night cruises, you will be Gold level on your fourth sailing, as you will be passing the 25-day mark on that sailing. Most Carnival ships have self-serve launderettes on cabin decks with washing machines, dryers, irons and ironing boards. The launderettes also have vending machines that dispense small boxes of detergent and water softener at $1.50 per box. Carnival also offers a less expensive "social" plan that only allows access to key social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and messaging services such as WhatsApp for $15.30 a day when bought in advance.

Most onboard activities such as shows and deck-top attractions are included in the fare. The quality of the food (and drink) on Carnival ships always surprises us, given the budget pricing of the brand. Despite being one of the industry's lowest-cost operators, Carnival manages to pull off one of the best steakhouses at sea in Fahrenheit 555, and even the no-extra-charge main restaurants get the basics right. Naturally, Carnival Horizon will deliver all the best tastes, sights, sounds and experiences cruisers have come to love aboard Carnival’s existing fleet of cruise ships. But our newest vessel also introduces some exciting new features and promises an ocean of fun, whether you cruise to the Caribbean, or The Bahamas.

Day Cruises

Pre-paying for the tour will reserve their spot on the exclusive activity, which is only offered once per sailing and for just a small group of people. The only exception for a short period will be the newest ship, Carnival Jubilee, which will not be offering the exclusive tour until sometime closer to mid-January as she begins her guest operations. Again, the exact date has not been confirmed but will be announced at a later date. While no exact date for the fleetwide reservations has yet been confirmed, it is likely to happen very quickly once the reservation system can be adapted for all 26 ships in the Carnival fleet.

carnival cruise line tours

Everyone on the tour will receive an exclusive ‘Behind the Fun’ baseball cap, as well as included commemorative photos from the experience. No bags, cameras, recording devices, or cell phones are permitted on the tour. The minimum age for the tour is 8 years old; anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Carnival Cruise Line continues to return to normal as the company’s brand ambassador John Heald has announced official restart dates for the popular Behind the Fun ship tour. You’ll do more than just pass the time as you sail from port to port.

Maybe you'll drink a little too much, eat a little too much, play a little too much — but in the end, you'll say it was your best trip ever. However, with two exceptions, they're not giants by today's standards. Strap in and get ready for a bird’s eye view of the ship—and the ocean—as you zip around the suspended two-lane bike course on Carnival Horizon’s SkyRide®. It may sound fantastical, but the virtual tour will give you a sneak peek of what it will feel like to fly high above deck.

Sail a few longer voyages, like a transatlantic sailing, and you could reach it even sooner. In fact, when it comes to waterslides on ships, Carnival is the cruise world's king. There's now at least one waterslide on all but one ship in the Carnival fleet (Carnival Luminosa) — something no other line can say. BlueIguana is a Chipotle-style restaurant, with yummy made-to-order burritos and tacos. Created in partnership with Food Network's Guy Fieri, Guy's Burger Joint offers burgers that beat anything you'll find around the pool on other mass-market ships and even most luxury vessels.

Other extra-charge eateries often found on Carnival vessels include Bonsai, an a la carte sushi restaurant (now on 14 ships), and JiJi Asian Kitchen, which costs $24 per person (now on four ships). Like other big-ship operators, Carnival packs a lot of dining options onto its vessels — some included in the price, some at an extra charge. Carnival favorites like Guy’s Burger Joint and BlueIguana Cantina™ are here, along with specialty dining (for an additional fee) including Bonsai Sushi, JiJi Asian Kitchen®, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Cucina Del Capitano® and Seafood Shack.

Dubbed WaterWorks, these areas vary in size and features from vessel to vessel. They typically have one or two big waterslides (sometimes three!), a play zone with interactive water features and a large, continuously filling dump bucket that periodically soaks everybody within range. Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse, notably, has its very own in-house brewery you can see behind glass walls — something still relatively rare on cruise ships. It makes house beers including Parched Pig West Coast IPA and Parched Pig Toasted Amber which you'll find on many Carnival vessels in kegs and cans.

The oldest Fantasy Class vessels have 28 suites and 26 junior suites. In recent years, Carnival also has deployed two of its vessels to Australia to operate voyages from Sydney and Brisbane. In a departure from Carnival's American-focused business model, the Australia sailings are aimed mostly at the local Australian market, though they are open to American travelers. Seven of the line's 25 vessels measure less than 100,000 tons, which makes them almost midsize by today's cruise ship standards. This is, after all, the brand that for many years held a Hairy Chest Contest around the pool deck on every voyage, to a standing-room-only, hooting and hollering crowd.

carnival cruise line tours

After all that action, and all those flavors, you’ll need some time to rest and recharge. On board Carnival Horizon, you’ll find some very special staterooms and suites that will have you feeling refreshed in no time. For even more pampering, you may want to opt for a Cloud 9 stateroom to enjoy exclusive room amenities and unlimited access to the spa’s Thermal Suites for no additional charge. Stay in one of these bliss-inducing rooms and you’ll also score priority spa reservations. Families will love the space of the Family Harbor staterooms and suites—not to mention their proximity to the Family Harbor Lounge, serving breakfast and snacks, and filled with board games, video games and family-friendly movies. Of course, Carnival Horizon also has ocean view and balcony staterooms—plus stylish interior staterooms for the best value around.

Top 10 Biggest Cruise Ships in the World 2024

the world's largest cruise

The Oasis class vessel is 236,857 gross tons and has a passenger capacity of 5,734 at double occupancy, but that goes up to 7,084 at maximum capacity. The giant cruise ship also has a crew capacity of 2,204, and there are a total of 18 decks. The crown of the world’s biggest cruise ship previously went to Wonder of the Seas, an Oasis-class vessel operated by Royal Caribbean. The ship is similar in design to her sister ships but adds some additional features and evolves the class.

Arvia (P&O Cruises)

This is the first world-class vessel from the fast-growing MSC Cruises and was built at the popular Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in St. Nazaire, France. Since her delivery in October 2022, she has been the largest MSC cruise ship ever. That will be until the sister ship MSC World America arrives in 2025. Scheduled to begin sailing in April 2025, MSC World America will be the world's seventh-biggest cruise ship when it debuts and the biggest MSC Cruises ship ever deployed to North America. Unveiled in January, Icon of the Seas is the world's biggest cruise ship. In April 2022, I cruised on board Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas.

Next to the desk, a set of drawers included a cabinet with a minifridge inside.

MSC Cruises also announced last week that the ship would have what's billed as the only overwater swing ride at sea; the attraction is called Cliffhanger, and it's suspended 160 feet above the water. On our first sea day, I was so surprised by the relative absence of crowds that I walked the ship trying to find them. But with so many venues, including 40 restaurants, bars and entertainment spaces, passengers were constantly moving around. For months, the 250,800-ton ship, which can carry nearly 8,000 people, has been making headlines — including some that have criticized its size and potential to damage the environment. But the passengers who plunked down $1,800 to $100,000 and boarded the ship at Port Miami in Florida on Jan. 27, said nothing could have prepared them for the vessel’s sheer scale. Icon of the Seas can hold up to 7,600 guests at capacity or 5,610 guests on a double occupancy basis (two people per cabin).

American Actor to Serve as Godfather to Carnival Firenze

MSC entered the top ten in 2022 when World Europa made its maiden voyage in December of that year. It has 2,700 staterooms, 430,000 square feet of public space, 16 total decks and even an 11-foot dry slide called the Spiral, among the longest dry slide at sea. World Europa is the first of four total ships in MSC's World-class fleet, with the second ship World America set to launch in 2025. Currently, the largest cruise ship in the world by both tonnage and passenger capacity is Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas. When it set sail in 1912, the ill-fated Titanic was the largest and grandest passenger vessel of its time. But, as of 2009, when Royal Caribbean debuted its first Oasis-class ship, the superlative applies to vessels more than five times Titanic's size.

Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas slips to the fourth position this year, having been the biggest cruise ship in the world from 2018 to 2022. Harmony of the Seas overtakes its older Oasis-class ships just slightly, making her the fourth-largest cruise ship in the world. The vessel is the first of two new orders from STX France to expand the large class ships to four.

Costa Cruises Costa Smeralda

The ship’s first cruise is set for February 2024, and will debut Princess Cruises' largest number of dining options, offering guests 29 choices. MSC World Europa is the second largest cruise ship powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and takes the cruise line into a new era of sustainability, which it’s taking very seriously. The 7th world’s biggest cruise ship features more than 30 different dining venues and a new thrilling 250-foot Drop slide located aft of the ship. Wonder of the Seas, the fifth Oasis-class vessel, took the world’s largest cruise ship title from her sister Symphony of the Seas in 2022. However, since the arrival of the much-anticipated new-class Icon of the Seas, the vessel has now lost that crown.

Perhaps more surprisingly, only two other lines join it on the winner's podium. Besides taking on the mantle of largest cruise ship in the world, Icon of the Seas is yet another game changer for Royal Caribbean. Its launch in January 2024 heralds a new ship class loaded with new attractions and iconic spaces. It features 20 decks (18 guest-accessible decks), a record-setting six water slides and the largest swimming pool at sea. Until Utopia of the Seas launches in 2024, Sun Princess will be among the twenty largest cruise ships afloat on the world’s oceans.

The ship has the feel of a city, with eight distinct “neighborhoods.” My favorite, Central Park, was filled with more than 33,000 plants; it was the perfect place to stroll or read on a bench. The Royal Promenade, with karaoke and a piano bar, could get crowded and noisy at peak times. When you choose to apply (and are approved) for a new credit card through our site, we may receive compensation from our partners, and this may impact how or where these products appear. Please view our advertising policy and product review methodology for more information. When it debuted, Oasis of the Seas® won Best Cruise Ship — and now the Amplified game changer will set a new standard for making memories.

British-based P&O Cruises took delivery of its largest-ever cruise ship and first to be powered by Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) in October 2020. This came after delays due to the global pandemic and the impact on the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papengburg, Germany, which is where the vessel was constructed. Costa Smeralda is the cruise line’s first-ever cruise ship powered by Liquified Natural Gas (LNG).

Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas runs nearly 1,200 feet (365 meters) from bow to stern. “When you step back and look at all the energy and time that has gone into creating this ship, it is mind-blowing,” he added.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Vessel Sanitation Program (20%). Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) Encore is a part of the four-ship Breakaway Plus-class, a class known for mimicking small cities with numerous outdoor activities. Launched in 2023, MSC Euribia is among the list of LNG-powered ships that are revolutionizing the industry with cleaner operations as it cruises to mostly European ports of call.

When the Icon of the Seas was first revealed in October 2022, the ship spurred the single largest booking day and the highest volume booking week in Royal Caribbean’s then 53-year history, according to the cruise line. The ship, which is leaving South Florida for its first seven-day island-hopping voyage through the tropics, was officially christened Tuesday with help from soccer legend Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami teammates. The ship is the size of almost four city blocks and runs nearly 1,200 feet (365 meters) from bow to stern.

State television said the Emad long-range ballistic missile and the Paveh cruise missile were used to attack Israel. It was the single largest drone attack ever carried out by any country, and it was the first time Iran directly attacked Israel after almost a half-century of being archenemies. Tehran, Iran – Iran’s use of hundreds of drones and missiles to directly target Israel overnight on Sunday in retaliation for an Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus set some major political and military precedents.

All three of the vessels will be the biggest in their respective fleets. During my voyage, the ship sailed to Roatán, Honduras; Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico; and Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas. All of the ships in Royal Caribbean's Oasis Class and Icon Class are at least five times larger than Titanic was. The most awarded ship in the world is stealing the spotlight again for entertainment, dining, family activities and more, it’s filled with endless ways to make every moment incredible.

Dating to November 2022, Carnival Celebration is the world's 14th biggest cruise ship. Royal Caribbean Ovation of the Seas made its first voyage in 2016, which made it the third ship in the Quantum-class. Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas is the second ship in the five-ship Quantum-class. Anthem of the Seas debuted in 2015 and has 16 decks (14 guest decks) along with 2,090 staterooms.

What to Do in Naples, Italy, from the Cruise Port

naples cruise port

If you've been to Pompeii, Herculaneum is smaller but has better preseved ruins than Pompeii. Most ships berth at Stazione Marittima, which is centrally located just below Castel Nuovo and ideal if you plan to take the hydrofoil to Capri, Ischia or Sorrento. You can walk right into town from there and be at Piazza del Plebiscito in a few minutes. On busy days, ships also dock at Molo Pisacane to the east of Stazione Marittima, and shuttle buses are available to transfer passengers to Galleria del Mare inside the Stazione Marittima. What is the best way to explore Naples Italy?

Situated in the heart of Naples, the port offers easy access to many of the city’s top attractions, making it a convenient starting point for your Naples adventure. In this guide, we will take you on a journey through Naples, offering insights into the must-visit attractions, hidden gems, and exciting day trips that you can embark on from the cruise port. Whether you are a history buff, a food lover, or simply seeking a memorable cultural experience, Naples has something to offer for everyone. Naples is a vibrant city bursting with life, full of colorful, authentic streets where you can find plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, street sellers, and much more. There are several streets you can explore, and they are all within walking distance from Naples cruise port. A 40 minute boat trip to Sorrento by fast ferries from Beverello (The ferry teminal only 100 meters from where the cruise ships dock) is 12.30 Euro one way.

Thank you for reading my Naples cruise port guide

For a round trip ticket to Capri, expect about euros round trip per person, depending on if you book the faster or slower ferries. If you book online ahead of time there appears to be an additional booking fee of euros. For most visitors it is the ferry services to the islands of Capri and Ischia plus the resort of Sorrento that is the main reason for using the ferry port. Alternatively, you can take a public ferry from Naples straight to the Isle of Capri. There are a number of ferries operating on this route which make multiple trips to and from the island each day.

Business

In the heart of the city is a charming B&B known as Ciao Bellini, near Naples National Archeological Museum. This Napoli food tour allows you to try pizza and a traditional dessert called sfogliatella. Perched on the edge of Naples city is a medieval castle that overlooks Naples Cruise Port.

The port section labeled “Molo Beverello” paved the way for ferries and a variety of other vessels. Moreover, it is worth noting that Stazione Maritima serves as the primary cruise terminal within this expansive waterfront setting. First, take one of the Circumvesuviana trains to Pompeii Scavi or Herculaneum. The bus ride will take you up the winding road to the entrance of Mount Vesuvius National Park.

The Royal Palace and Museum of Naples allow visitors to explore lavishly decorated rooms, including the opulent Throne Room, the luxurious Royal Apartments, and the magnificent Court Theater. Also known as the Duomo di San Gennaro, the Naples Cathedral is a magnificent religious landmark. This centuries-old place of worship houses the Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro. We highly recommend booking a guided tour in advance for Naples if you don’t sign up for an excursion with the cruise.

Distances from the cruise terminal to:

Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as you explore the site, as there are several uneven surfaces and stairs. To enhance your visit, consider hiring a knowledgeable guide who can provide historical context, share captivating stories, and bring the ancient city to life. Starting from the Castel Nuovo, also known as the Maschio Angioino, you can begin your walk along the waterfront. Admire the imposing medieval castle before continuing your journey along the lungomare.

While overshadowed by its more famous neighbor Pompeii, Herculaneum is a well-preserved archaeological site that showcases the daily life and opulence of a prosperous ancient city. Another highlight of a visit to Capri is the Gardens of Augustus (Giardini di Augusto). Located in the town of Capri, these lush gardens offer breathtaking panoramic views of the Faraglioni rocks and the stunning coastline. It’s the perfect spot to relax, take in the scenery, and appreciate the sheer beauty of the island. When planning your day trips, consider whether you prefer to join a guided tour or explore independently.

Italy

Via Santa Brigita, which begins just above Castel Nuovo, has a lot of banks with cash machines. If you are visiting Pompeii, you'll find ATM's very close to the ticket office. On a hot day, you'll definitely want euros on hand for a gelato, a bottle of water or a refreshing lemon granita. Exploring Herculaneum allows you to delve deeper into the daily life of ancient Romans. Discover the thermal baths, the marketplace with its well-preserved food stalls, and the preserved wooden beds that offer a glimpse into daily routines and social dynamics.

Mount Vesuvius – For nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers, a visit to Mount Vesuvius is a must. Take a guided tour to the summit of this iconic volcano, hike along the crater rim, and take in the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Amalfi Coast – Embark on a scenic drive along the Amalfi Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its dramatic cliffs, picturesque villages, and crystal-clear waters. You can stroll through Marina Grande, the vibrant harbor and the main port of Capri, full of shops, restaurants, and bars where you can savor Italian specialties and great local wines.

One of the main highlights of the Naples Cruise Port is its variety of duty-free shops and boutiques. Mount Vesuvius – For an adventure in nature, embark on a hike to the summit of Mount Vesuvius. Take a guided tour and climb up the volcano to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. This harbor delivers more than just practicality – its location affords panoramic views across the beautiful marina, where sparkling waterways come alive under Italian skies. For example, this tour combines guided exploration of the Pompeii ruins with a hike of Mt. Vesuvius. An active volcano located 14 miles from Naples, it is most famous for the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD that buried the ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.

Caribbean and Bahamas Cruises Disney Cruise Line®

disney bahamas cruise

Disney Cruises are currently scheduled through the end of September 2024; as additional dates and itineraries become available, we will update this list. Disney Cruise Line has also announced a range of three to ten itineraries to Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point for Summer 2024. As more details about this eagerly awaited destination become available, we will keep you informed of the latest developments and itineraries. In the meantime, we have an abundance of information to share with you on dates, itineraries, and pricing for Disney Lighthouse Point cruises. Beginning in June 2024, Disney will launch two inaugural cruises to Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, followed by a selection of cruises ranging from three to ten nights during the summer.

Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, is a stop on all Disney Cruise ships originating in Florida with itineraries in the Bahamas or the Caribbean. It’s one of the most popular Disney Cruise Line stops and has so many things for everyone in the family to do. A limited number of itineraries offer a Castaway Cay double-dip, where you’ll get to visit the island twice during your sailing. Similar to Disney’s Castaway Cay, there will be an abundance of opportunities for guests of all ages to enjoy fun in the sun. Day 3 of this Disney Wish Bahamas Cruise Review was our second port stop of this short cruise. Today, we were visiting Disney Cruise Line’s private island in the Bahamas.

If you want to sail on a particular ship, go to “more filters,” and you can adjust the search only to show you certain ships. Slated to open in the summer of 2024, this vibrant beach retreat is designed with a family-friendly focus, promising a unique blend of Bahamian culture and Disney fun. Both Disney Magic and Disney Fantasy will explore Disney Cruise Line’s newest destination, Lighthouse Point in The Bahamas, on several sailings. Departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Disney Magic will offer cruises ranging from three to five nights to destinations in The Bahamas and the Caribbean.

Disney Cruise Port Adventure FAQs

On a recent sailing, I saw Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto all in 30 minutes. I hate taking tender ships, which can feel like a bit of a time sink, so this is a big bonus to me. Cruise bookings are predicted to reach record highs this year, but not all itineraries are created equally — especially if you're looking to sail with Disney Cruise Line. It’s no secret that Disney knows a thing or two about providing top-tier family entertainment. Have a look at the daily scheduled activities on your navigator app while planning your day. This open-air area has a basketball court, a mini golf course, and virtual sports simulators.

How Much are Shore Excursions in the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Bermuda?

A Jamaican-inspired lunch is included, and you can round out your visit with views from the observation tower. Take a second ride on the Sky Explorer to begin your return to the ship. Take a brief ride to Sunset beach, then help a group of local nonprofit’s marine biologists restore the coral reefs of Cozumel. This activity includes hands-on restoration work, followed by recreation such as snorkeling and beach time.

The premise of the show is that guests are attending an engagement party for Anna and Kristoff. We would liken this to a character dining experience in the Disney parks, with the characters walking around to the tables for photos during dinner. Out of dinner in about two hours again this evening, we continued our “drink around the ship”.

I always stop to see the Disney characters in their cute beachwear

Lighthouse Point is being thoughtfully designed to provide a hassle-free experience for families, including complimentary beach essentials (towels, chairs and umbrellas and lunch), and tram transportation. Children ages 3 to 12 will splash and play at a kids’ club under the care of Disney Cruise Line counselors. The kids’ club will offer a splash pad inspired by favorite undersea creatures from “The Little Mermaid,” plenty of shade, as well as a dedicated dining area. Treasures of Eleuthera will be the retail shop featuring locally made gifts and artisan crafts. What I really love is how the shop will spotlight Bahamian artists through an array of unique items that families will be able to bring home with them as a special keepsake. The curvilinear buildings will at first appear as Bahamian shells scattered along the shoreline.

Disney Cruise Line has two Bahamian destinations on its schedule - Nassau and Disney’s Castaway Cay. All cruise lines have similar policies, though the exact cut-off dates for safely sailing while pregnant can vary for individual lines. Doctor’s notes authorizing cruise travel later in pregnancy are not accepted to circumvent this rule.

Scheduled Ports of Call

This 144K gross ton vessel is DCL’s first new ship in over a decade and now the largest ship in the fleet. Carrying up to 4,000 passengers, this brand new vessel features a number of new dining concepts, onboard amenities, and one-of-a-kind features that kids and adults alike will enjoy. In the Caribbean and Bahamas, there are endless heavenly wonders to explore - each one as tempting as the last. As well as unparalleled relaxation on the pristine beaches of Tortola, British Virgin Islands and Nassau, Bahamas, there's an array of exciting adventures waiting to be had. If you want as many options as possible, just pick the destination – I recommend selecting Bahamas cruise and Caribbean cruise if you want to go to the Bahamas – and your dates and see what comes up. The Disney Fantasy sails several Bahamian routes from Port Canaveral and several Eastern and Western Caribbean routes from Port Canaveral, including Castaway Cay stops.

It’s very rare for a Disney Cruise to directly include time at Walt Disney World. In the past, Disney Cruises from New York visited Port Canaveral and included a one-day Disney world ticket. Not that it’s a crucial part of the experience, but Disney often nudges its tour providers into providing a few extra touches on their Disney Cruise excursions. Visit a local restaurant to watch the fascinating process of making Paella. You’ll then enjoy your freshly-made meal (along with a glass of Sangria for those ages 21+) and receive the recipe to take home. During lunch, an energetic Flamenco dance performance highlights your experience.

A special treat on cruises that spend the night in King’s Wharf, this unique nighttime adventure takes takes you into the heart of the mysterious Bermuda Triangle. Board a 50-foot glass-bottom boat for ghostly commentary about the history and legends of the area. Mix the ancient with the exhilarating on this multi-faceted experience.

Book your cruise through a Disney travel agent to earn Onboard Credit for excursions and other purchases during your cruise. You can spend about $18 to rent a two-seater paddle boat at Castaway Cay — or you can charter a private fishing vessel for the day in Tortola, British Virgin Islands for $6,599. There's also the adults-only lunch spot where I always enjoy a beachside barbecue. My favorite things on the lunch menu are the ribs and macaroni salad.

While the food in 1923 was better, we would say this was the best overall dining experience. We figured that we could get our remaining photos and videos of the ship minus some of the crowds in the afternoon. Arriving on time, we were escorted to table 411 once again, with our same tablemates and waitstaff.

You can also book a shore excursion through Disney Cruise Line or on your own. Atlantis has restaurants, epic water slides, and marine life experiences, such as swimming with dolphins, plus more. Finding a cruise to the Bahamas, or wherever else you want to go, is easy. Go to the Disney Cruise website and select the “Plan a Cruise” tab toward the top right, then go down to the “Find a Cruise” tab and enter your details.
